Branding was first used by ancient peoples to mark their livestock and slaves, while prisoners were often marked with a brand that would identify their crimes to the general public. The branding of animals was considered a prevention of theft.
Brands are usually made by using capital letters, although you may customize your brand to suit your tastes, and can also make use of symbols, numbers or other characters such as a slash /, circle O, cross bar + or star *. Much like a monogram you can use your initials along with other letters to create your own personal brand.
