The Buddah Tattoo of Tranquility and Enlightenment

A Buddha is considered anyone who has become fully enlightened, but usually the Buddha is considered to be Siddhartha Gautama, the first Buddha and the founder of the Buddhist religion. Being enlightened means leaving behind all earthly desires for a state of pure awareness.

There are many symbols that can be interpreted as Buddhist, including the Buddha himself, along with a Begging Bowl, an empty throne or Bodhi tree. Ultimately it is representative of peace and tranquility.
