Evil and Temptation of the Demon Tattoo
Demons have always been prominent in tattoo design and can be found in many cultures throughout the world. In ancient Greek the word daimon meant divinity or divine power, and appeared wherever humans were struggling between good and evil. In the beginning demons were not evil powers but at the time of Judaism and Christianity the demon became associated with evil or temptation.
Satan was of course the main demon and was the leader of all other evil spirits. It is believed that Satan was once an angel but was denied entry back into Heaven because of his pride and vanity. In nearly every culture the demon is a bringer of pain and suffering and enjoys leading humans astray. It was believed that anyone suffering from a mental disorder had been possessed by a demon.
