In Native American folklore the dreamcatcher is a powerful symbol of protection, and is said to keep evil and harm at bay. A dreamcatcher was hung over an infant’s crib and the web would catch anything harmful, letting the goodness leftover to pass down to the sleeping baby along the soft feathers that were hung at the bottom.
