Four-Leaf Clover Tattoo

Hope, Faith, Love, and Luck Four-Leaf Clover Tattoo

This is a very popular design with the Irish and those of Celtic descent, as the shamrock or four-leaf clover is essentially a universally-recognized symbol of Ireland.

Of course a four-leaf clover is also an omen of good luck. St. Patrick used a shamrock to illustrate to the Irish the concept of the Holy Trinity, hence why the shamrock and the color green is so closely linked to St. Patrick’s Day.

A four-leaf clover is considered lucky due to the fact that they appear only once per 10,000 shamrocks. Hence the term “luck of the Irish”.

The leaves of a four leaf clover represent the following:
The first leaf is for hope
The second is for faith
The third leaf is for love
And the fourth leaf is for luck
