The Bravery and Glory of the Iron Cross Tattoo
This old world German symbol is probably one of the most recognized military awards of all time. It was instituted in 1813 by King Friedrich Wilhelm III during the Prussian War of Liberation against Napoleon.
The award was given to over 5 million soldiers for heroism, acts of bravery and leadership skills. It was resurrected by Hitler in 1939 to bring back the glory of the old days. It has not been awarded since 1945.
