The Christian Jesus Tattoo
Reserved for devout Christians, Jesus is a symbol of love and hope. In the 60’s and 70’ is became popular among Christian circles to tattoo themselves with an icon of Jesus in order to counteract the anti-religious war that was waging around them.
Jesus is usually depicted wearing a crown of thorns to signify his suffering on the behalf of humanity, and his face is glowing or he has a halo to show his divinity as God’s only son.
