Kanji Tattoo

The Luck of the Kanji Tattoo

The Kanji is an extremely popular tattoo design and accounts for 1/5th of all tattoo searches. The Japanese Kanji is one of the three common alphabets and is a set of ideographic symbols, meaning that they tell a story instead of representing letter sounds like the Western Alphabet.

It is no secret that the Kanji is very difficult to learn, with over a thousand symbols that are used in everyday writing, plus another thousand that are used on occasion. Also the pronunciation of a symbol can change depending on the context in which it is presented.

There are many beautiful Kanji that all have meanings. Some of the most widely worn Kanji’s include: luck, happiness, love and family.
