Smart and Playful Otter Tattoos
Smart, playful, and fun-loving, the otter has many admirable qualities. They are related to weasels, stoats, minks and wolverines. Otters have been found on every continent throughout the world except for Australia and Antarctica.
A great fisherman, the otter is extremely cunning and can use tools to open the shells of mollusks. They have developed a thick, water repellent coat. It became a favourite hide during the height of the fur trade in the 18th and 19th century.
The Native Americans greatly admired the otter for its willingness to go to great lengths to protect its family. They most closely associated the otter with grace, curiosity and empathy. It is thought that their mission was to teach us that to enjoy life we must have fun.
