The Symbolism in Playing Cards Tattoos
Cards were first common in Medieval Europe as a way for the rich to pass time. Nowadays nearly every household has a deck of cards and each card in the deck has its own symbolism. In fact, any deck of cards has significance: four suits for the four seasons, 13 cards equalling the phases of the moon and 52 cards which equal the weeks of the year.
Depending on the cards depicted, a playing card tattoo can be an amulet of luck (four aces, royal flush, etc), or can warn of the ruin of card gambling.
Playing cards can be symbolic of life itself, we never know what card is going to come up and sometimes we have to make our own luck.
