Biker Spider Web Tattoos
Probably the one word most associated with the spider web is ‘struggle’ which is exactly what occurs when a bug is caught in a spider web.
The web can also stand for life, and your path can twist and turn much like the gossamer threads of a spider’s web.
Some see the bars of the spider web as a metaphor for jail bars, making the web a popular prison tattoo. A prison tattoo uses the bars of the web to indicate years incarcerated, while a symbol within the web can indicate the crime committed.
As with any prison culture, the spider web tattoo has also become popular with biker gangs, ex-cons and those on the fringes of society. Some choose to place the tattoo on their elbow as a sign that they are concealing a weapon, or even between their thumb and forefinger to indicate a drug addiction.
