Courageous and Loyal Tengu Tattoos
The Tengu are Japanese demons who lived in mountains and forests and are protectors of the Buddhist Dharma. They were known to play tricks on the vain or overbearing.
A person who is arrogant, proud or conceited may be told that they are turning into a Tengu.
They are usually depicted in Japanese Noh theatre as a crow-like, beaked creature that may have wings. Tengu are able to shape-shift and to appear in dreams. They were thought to protect the Buddhist Dharma by punishing corrupt monks after they died.
As for the Tengu in tattoo lore, he can represent a reminder to stay virtuous, courageous and loyal or you may have someone waiting for you when you die.
