Zodiac symbols fall into two categories: the 12 classic Astrological Zodiac signs (Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius) or the 12 Chinese Zodiac symbols (Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig).
Each of the symbols has certain personality traits associated with them, and as a tattoo your astrological sign can be a talisman to remind you of your good traits and to protect you from your negative side. It is also common to ink yourself with the zodiac sign of someone you love, like a spouse or child.
