Robert Scarpati

My name is Robert Scarpati and I am the owner and operator of Sparrow Tattoo in Franklin Square, New York. I have been currently tattooing in this location for the past four years.

I have been tattooing for a total of ten years, including the two years spent on my apprenticeship. It was through my tattooing where I later grew to appreciate different styles of art and later become more proficient in my own artwork. I had spent two years at Empire and a year at the Art Students League of New York to futher improve in my skills in fine art.

I enjoy painting both fine and tattoo themed art, all of which could be seen on my website at sparrowtattoo.com. I love to tattoo black\\grey or color portraits and I mostly work custom pieces for my clients.

My tattoos have been published in magazines and I have also had my paintings on display in galleries. I have tattooed throughout the US and all over the world through conventions and guest spots, including Reno, San Francisco, Germany and Ireland, just to name a few. Not only am I an artist, but I also consider myself a fan of tattoos as well. I am a proud collector of tattoos from such famous artists as Bugs, Spider Webb Ed Hardy and Anil Gupta. I can remember in the beginning when I had decided to become a tattoo artist, I was struggling with working two jobs, often totaling over 70 hours a week. After all of that hard work, it makes me feel really good to know that I was able to accomplish my dreams have all of my work pay off. I also find myself to be a lucky guy to have the opportunity to be able to make my money solely off of my own artwork, and to be able to get paid doing what I really love to do.
